Take a look
The St Laurence Church (Laurenskerk) in Echten has a rich history and stands out due to its somewhat isolated position in the landscape.
It was built as a Reformed Church in around 1245 and was entirely encased in brick in the second half of the 17th century. The detailed architecture we see today dates from the beginning of the 19th century. The tower was added to the west side of the church in 1879. The earlier church had a freestanding bell tower. The original church bell cast by Cornelius van Ammeroy in 1579 that once hung in the bell tower at Echten now resides at the Reformed Church in the village of Blankenham in Overijssel. The organ was built by firma L. van Dam en zonen in 1871.
