From 11 to 18 July 2026, Heerenveen will become the beating heart of European cycle touring during the 20th European Week of Cycle Touring organised by the UECT.

Cyclists from across Europe will gather in Friesland to explore a different route each day. Through wide open landscapes. Along waterways and through villages where life unfolds outdoors. It is about riding, meeting others and sharing the road.
During this cycling week, Heerenveen serves as the starting point for organised tours in the surrounding area. The exact routes and distances will be determined by the organisation and announced through the official UECT channels.
The European Week of Cycle Touring is the annual flagship event of the Union Européenne de Cyclotourisme, a non-profit European association that has promoted and connected cycle touring since 2002. Each year, the event takes place in a different European country. In 2026, Heerenveen is the host city.
Expect a week full of movement, encounters and discovery.
