Lippenhuizen - Tijnje | Koningspad XL Hiking Trail Network: Section 4
This route starts from the village of Lippenhuizen and takes you through the Lippenhuisterheide nature reserve to the Koningsdiep river. The route skirts the edge of the Wallebos forest and leads onto Gerdyksterwei road. In the spring and summer months this area is a breeding ground for a large colony of white storks. If you look up, you will see them perched high in the tops of the oak trees. The Heidereed, Bûtewei and Kolderveen roads lead you around the perimeter of the Van Oordt’s Mersken nature reserve, which is part of the Natura 2000 Network.
