Het Lage Noorden is located in a special spot on the Noorderleech between Zwarte Haan and Holwerd. There is a watchtower that offers a magnificent view of the Wadden coast. If you walk down the grounds, you walk straight into the salt marsh. On the grounds you will find studios and workshops and you can stay overnight. It is also the place to relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or hearty lunch.

Writers' cottages
In our atmospheric writers' houses you kill two birds with one stone; comfort and an outdoor feeling. And all year round! Do you want more of an outdoor feeling and cook your own meals? You can! Because we have two comfortable writers' cottages. Private kitchen and bathroom, good beds and tastefully decorated. And available all year round because they are super insulated and have a cozy pellet stove.

Camping
The best place in The Low North is outside! Beautiful views, an endless starry sky, sheep on the dike. In front of your tent or caravan it comes naturally! From April 15 to October 1, the camping gate is open and we welcome you to one of the 15 spots. Nature and art lovers, peace seekers, artists and their assistants, theater company ... Make it up. No mass tourism, but nice and small-scale. No 'glamping', but we do understand that a little something extra would make you happy.

Guesthouse
365 days a year at Het Lage Noorden you can stay in one of the five cozy rooms. For a few nights or a few months.... In our guesthouse we have 5 spacious rooms (20-35m2) with private sanitary facilities, a common 'living kitchen', a terrace, and a beautiful view. We are happy to rent out the rooms not in use as residency! You might be sitting at the breakfast table with one of our 'artists in residence'.... Want to know with whom? We only use ecological cleaning products. In addition, we mow weeds and shrubs at different heights.

We use a large amount of leftover materials and second-hand furniture for our business.

Artists are encouraged to address the above-mentioned themes in a non-judgemental way.

We use as many local ingredients as possible and introduce people to art.
