Terherne - Terkaple - Akmarijp - Goingarijp | Sailing route

(16.1 km)

Cruising route through and past Frisian villages around the Sneekermeer and Terherne.

The route starts in Terherne. You sail close to the Sneekermeer lake via various puddles. Via the Terhernster Puollen, you pass the Kameleon island. You then sail via the sheltered Lange Sleat, Syltsjesleat and Lykfeart through the villages of Terkaple, Akmarijp, Ballingbuurt and Goingarijp.

The village of Terkaple grew up around a chapel that belonged to the church of Aldeboarn. The name of the village Akmarijp refers to the fact that it lies on the edge (Old Frisian: Ripe) of the village area of Akkrum.

Along the way, you will come across two Bell Stalls: wooden scaffolding in which one or more bells are hung.

Sustainable sailing

Refuelling? Choose blue diesel. Or take an electric boat out. Something tasty for on the way? Fine, but make sure empty packaging does not blow overboard. And do you come across litter on the way? Then take it on board. Read more about sustainable water sports in Friesland.
