It is remarkable that Het Bij Kantoor (The Bee Office) is run by bees. The bee that is struggling because of us. What if the pollinators become extinct?
Since 1904, ants, bees, pelicans, butterflies and lions and lately also mosquitoes have lived in harmony together at Het Bij Kantoor. Many more species are now taking up temporary residence. Lovingly drawn, ingeniously sculpted and patiently filmed animals.
Het Bij Kantoor shows us how fragile we are. How can we transcend our fixed viewpoints and discover coherence between ourselves, nature and the cosmos? Life on this planet hangs by a thread. The animals themselves you don't hear about that. An uneasy silence falls in the At Office.
The exhibition can be seen from April 5 to November 16, 2024 and includes work by Lolkje van der Kooi, Machiel Braaksma, Skelte Braaksma, Tjibbe Hooghiemstra and Inge Reisberman.
