Brekkenroute

Limited access
(35 km)

You cycle along the Oudegaaster Brekken, water that is directly connected to the lakes. Everywhere you look is water. Special: The area is an absolute favourite of the pink-footed goose. Almost all pink-footed geese winter here in Southwest-Friesland and then go to Spitsbergen to breed. There are a lot of terraces on the Merk in Workum (junction 17). The Jopie Huisman Museum is just 50 meters further along.Oudega, with the largest ā€˜spinnenkopmolen’ (spider mill) in the Netherlands, has the cafĆ©-restaurant Trije Doarpen. The lock (junction 20) is a nice spot with all the old ships that are reminiscent of times gone by.
